Bulgaria's Transport Ministry will seek private investors for the airports in the cities of Rousse and Plovdiv, offering 35-year concessions on tender, the Government's press service said in a statement.
The concessionaire of the Plovdiv airport, in southern Bulgaria, must construct a cargo terminal to boost the airport's freight operations, while the investor in the airport in the Danubian town of Rousse, will be required to restore operations at the airfield that has been out of use since 1999.
The airport in Plovdiv is 58.08 per cent owned by Danish company Nordic Airport Infrastructure and 38.32 per cent by the state through Plovdiv Airport EAD, which is the operator of the facility.
